Flõstate shimmer and flow with debut album “Moments Of Feeling”

Canadian indie/RnB duo Flõstate share debut full-length album Moments of Feeling, along with visualiser for final single My Heart.

Moments Of Feeling is a long-awaited cumulation of songs created by producer MKSTN and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Avery Florence. Blending chill, washed-out, electronic; R&B; and dream and psychedelic pop with meaningful lyrics, the collaborative album uses themes of escapism to return to our natural state as humans in the universe, taking us through a dream before returning to reality.

Themes on Moments Of Feeling include connection to others and self, romance, surrealism and etherealism, being in a flow state, as a muse spirit while navigating life experiences.

Track by Track

Opening track Moments prepares the palette for an expansive audio sonic journey, awash with layers of vocal harmonies, abruptly ending to allow 2020 debut single Time’s calming energy to evoke the feeling of being in a timeless state. Genre blending One More Day In Love changes pace with heavy arpeggiated synths laying the foundation for a nostalgic piece centred on gaining clarity in solitude.

Truncated, two part Home Ground centres around finding yourself amidst chaos, part 1 (the interlude) stripped down with just piano, wind chimes, and vocals meandering into Home Ground’s heavier production serving as a juxtaposition to calm versus chaos.

Achingly ethereal indie electronic gem Dream Dance shimmers and shines, as spacious guitar and synth chords bring an otherworldly, underwater quality to the soundscape of a yearning for a distant love. My Heart floats in on a cloud, muffled drums emulating the sound of a heartbeat and jangly guitars setting a melancholic landscape, before bonus track So It Goes eases the listener out of the experience with nothing more than an acoustic piano and layered vocals.
